Kageno is very lucky to have an ongoing partnership with the Peace Corps in Rwanda. We've benefited from the skills and passion of a number of wonderful individuals who remain connected to Kageno and to Banda. The most recent switch over of volunteers happened almost a year ago when Theresa joined us and Rebecca departed. Rebecca was back in the US for a bit and now is working in Congo. She recently spent some time visiting Banda and had this to share:
"My life was changed by the two years I spent in Banda village in Rwanda in the Peace Corps. I learned about community and true friendship. I learned about poverty and change. I learned about breaking barriers of nationality, race, and class. I learned that love is what connects us."
The Peace Corps volunteers we've known have focused on health education and raising awareness and their work has been integral to Kageno's growth and success.
